Angouleme Comic festival committee removed a Japanese booth which tried to distort ‘comfort women’ as ‘prostitutes’. Also committee mentioned some exhibits in the booth were extremely politically motivated.
Japan has protested that the special ‘comfort women’ exhibition is driven by political cause;however, the Angoulme committee announced that the exhibition is neither about Korea nor Japan, it is simply about the ‘History and memoir’.
This year marks 100th after the broke-out of World War1. Angoulme Comic Festival 2014 features many exhibits related to the World War1 and Women’s right issues.
